Medak: Farmer dies after being rushed to government hospital
The family of the deceased alleges that a power outage and the absence of doctors contributed to the death.
A 65-year-old farmer, Tirupati Kishan, died at the Government General Hospital in Medak after being injured in a road accident on November 3, according to reports by The Hindu and Telangana Today.
Kishan, a resident of Aurangabad village in Haveli Ghanpur mandal, was reportedly hit by an unidentified car near Aurangabad Gate while he was on his two-wheeler.
The eldest son of the deceased, Narsimhulu, alleged that the hospital lacked electricity when his father arrived for emergency care and that doctors were not available for about 30 minutes.
Telangana Today reported that hospital staff had to use mobile phone lights to attend to the victim because of a power outage.
The family has called on Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, the District Collector, and the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) to conduct an inquiry into the hospital's emergency infrastructure and the availability of doctors.
A police case has been registered, and the family has requested that authorities use CCTV footage to find the driver of the unidentified vehicle.
