Two men arrested after driving with two women on car bonnet in Mathura

The incident occurred in Panigaon village following a dispute over money spent on a joint court case.

Two men, identified as Prem and Puneet, have been arrested for allegedly driving a car with a mother and daughter on its bonnet in Mathura on the night of November 2, according to reports by India Today and The Tribune.

The incident took place in Panigaon village near Vrindavan Parikrama Marg. The dispute reportedly began when the accused went to a house to demand reimbursement for expenses incurred during a joint court case.

The Tribune reported that when the money was not paid, the accused allegedly abused and assaulted those present. As the accused attempted to flee, the two women stood in front of the vehicle to stop them, but the car accelerated, knocking them onto the bonnet.

The men allegedly drove for nearly 2 km with the women clinging to the bonnet before leaving them near a petrol pump on Mant Road. Both women sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Mathura Circle Officer Varun Mishra stated that police initially registered a case of abuse and assault. Following an examination of evidence, including CCTV footage, charges under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) were added.

The two arrested men have been sent to judicial custody, while police continue efforts to trace a third associate involved in the incident.
