Harry Kane signs Bayern Munich contract extension until 2029

The England captain's new deal reportedly makes him Europe's highest-paid footballer by salary.

Bayern Munich announced on Thursday that Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane has signed a contract extension that runs until June 30, 2029, according to The Hindu.

The 33-year-old striker joined the Bundesliga club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. He has since scored 156 goals in 161 appearances for the German side.

While Bayern did not disclose financial details, German media reported the extension is the most lucrative in the club's history. India Today reported that sources told The Athletic the agreement makes Kane the highest-paid player in Europe by salary, though some rivals could earn more when including performance-related bonuses.

Kane said in a statement that he feels at home at the club and loves the fans and the city of Munich. He added that he is looking forward to the future and wants to win more titles with the team.

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said the striker has achieved extraordinary things with his goals and influence since joining in 2023. He described the extension as a commitment to the club.

Kane recently became the first Englishman to win the Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001. He also captained England to a third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
