First India vs Sri Lanka ODI moved to Visakhapatnam from Delhi

The venue change follows a request from the DDCA citing weather disruptions and planned renovation work at the stadium.

The first ODI of the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 13, 2026, has been moved from Delhi to the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, according to India Today and News18.

The BCCI announced the change on Thursday. The venue shift follows a request from the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), which cited potential weather disruption and proposed renovation work at the stadium.

Bhaskar English reported that the DDCA also cited pollution concerns to the BCCI. The DDCA noted that renovation work is ongoing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and that AQI levels in December are very high.

The DDCA had urged the BCCI to move the December 13 fixture out of Delhi, stating they would be ready to host India again later in 2027.

The ODI series will continue with the second match on December 16 in Bengaluru and the final match on December 19 in Ahmedabad. Sri Lanka will then play three T20Is starting on December 22 in Rajkot, followed by matches in Cuttack and Pune on December 24 and December 27.
