CSK and SRH complete four-player trade ahead of IPL 2027
Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards join Chennai Super Kings while Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis move to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have finalised a four-player player exchange ahead of the IPL 2027 season, according to reports by The Times of India and The Tribune.
Under the agreement, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian seam-bowling all-rounder Jack Edwards are moving to the Chennai-based franchise. Livingstone, who was previously acquired by SRH for Rs 13 crore, will join CSK at a reduced fee of Rs 6 crore.
In return, SRH have secured left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis. Khaleel returns to the Hyderabad side at his current contract value of Rs 4.8 crore, having previously played for the franchise between 2018 and 2021.
Ellis joins the SRH pace attack at his existing fee of Rs 2 crore. The Australian quick missed the entire IPL 2026 season due to a hamstring injury.
Jack Edwards moves to CSK at his current salary of Rs 3 crore after missing the 2026 tournament with a foot injury. The trade comes as both teams reshape their squads before next month's IPL mini auction.
The changes follow a period of transition for CSK, who recently appointed former India pacer Zaheer Khan as head coach to replace Stephen Fleming.
