CSK and SRH complete four-player trade ahead of IPL 2027
Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards join Chennai Super Kings while Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis move to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have finalised a four-player player exchange ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 season, according to ANI and Times of India.
England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian Jack Edwards are moving to the Chennai-based franchise. Livingstone joins CSK at a revised fee of Rs 6 crore, a reduction from the Rs 13 crore SRH originally paid for him. Edwards moves to Chennai at his current contract value of Rs 3 crore.
In exchange, SRH have acquired left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis. Khaleel joins Hyderabad at his existing fee of Rs 4.8 crore, while Ellis moves at his current rate of Rs 2 crore.
Khaleel previously played for SRH between 2018 and 2021. He took 15 wickets in 14 matches for CSK during IPL 2025 but played only five matches in 2026 before a right quadriceps injury ended his season.
Edwards missed the entire IPL 2026 season due to a foot injury. Similarly, Ellis was unavailable for the 2026 tournament because of a severe hamstring injury.
The trade allows CSK to add overseas all-rounders, while SRH aims to bolster their pace-bowling department.
