Maharashtra minister alleges opposition seeks regime change to implement Sharia

BJP leader Nitesh Rane accused the Congress and INDIA bloc of attempting to destroy the Constitution during a gathering in Nagpur.

Maharashtra Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane accused the Congress and other opposition parties of attempting to spread anarchy and implement Sharia through regime change. Speaking at a Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) event in the Mahal area of Nagpur on Wednesday, Rane alleged that an effort is underway to destroy the Constitution of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

According to Telangana Today, Rane claimed that the INDIA bloc and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are seeking a change in regime to establish an Islamic nation by 2047 under Ghazwa-e-Hind. He described the situation as a conflict between the Constitution and Sharia.

Rane also criticised Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MLA Aaditya Thackeray, stating that replacing a government is not as simple as operating a small food stall. He further commented on AIMIM Mumbra corporator Sahar Sheikh regarding an Instagram post about Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, suggesting she should move to Pakistan if she holds such affinities.

The minister also addressed claims by NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar regarding Kumbh Mela spending. Rane questioned why Pawar does not mention the Haj pilgrimage or disturbances during Ramadan, asking if the leader's opposition is limited to Hindu festivals.

Regarding electoral processes, Rane stated that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is required to prevent Pakistani or Bangladeshi nationals from voting. He concluded by praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar to enquire about his health.
