NMC mandates online portal for all statutory appeals
Medical colleges and registered practitioners must now use a dedicated digital portal instead of offline or email submissions for all appeals.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has made it mandatory for medical colleges, institutions, and Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) to file all statutory appeals through its online portal, according to Telangana Today.
NMC Secretary Dr Raghav Langer issued directives stating that traditional methods, such as email filings and physical submissions, have been discontinued to promote digitisation.
Medical colleges must use the institutional portal for matters and pay a standardised fee of Rs 50,000 plus GST via online gateways, NEFT, or RTGS.
Under Section 30(3), RMPs who are unhappy with a State Medical Council decision may submit a First Appeal to the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) within 60 days. This process costs Rs 500 plus 18 per cent GST, totalling Rs 590.
A second appeal to challenge an EMRB decision before the full Commission can be filed under Section 30(4) within 60 days for Rs 5,000 plus 18 per cent GST, totalling Rs 5,900. This must include a prescribed affidavit.
The NMC advised appellants to follow user manuals and ensure PDF documents are legible to avoid rejections caused by missing documentation or incorrect statutory provisions. Practitioners with previous offline appeals can use a manual-import option for digital second appeals.
