The reported changes involve the removal of already-booked evening and night slots for Scene at theatres including Rohini Silver Screens and Varadharaja Cinemas.
One fan reported receiving a refund for two tickets booked for a November 6 morning show, while another claimed that Friday 8 PM and 11:30 PM shows were cancelled and reallocated to Mookuthi Amman 2.
Some fans have alleged that the distribution network, specifically pointing to Red Giant Movies, is influencing theatre allocations and limiting opportunities for competing films.
The controversy has led to demands for transparency from theatre owners and distributors regarding screen control and booking visibility.
Scene is directed by Jithu Madhavan and stars Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, while Mookuthi Amman 2 is a fantasy entertainer directed by Sundar C.
