USA Cricket proposes three independent directors to exit bankruptcy
American Cricket Enterprises has pledged up to ₹29 crore 68 lakh in additional funding to support the organisation's reorganisation plan.
USA Cricket has filed a reorganisation plan with a US bankruptcy court to address its financial and administrative crisis, according to Bhaskar English. Court-appointed trustee Mark Dennis has proposed three independent directors, Celina Kang, Patrick Singleton and Norman Wayne, to lead the board.
The new directors will be responsible for bringing administrative stability and reinstating the suspended membership of the ICC. Once the plan is approved and conditions are met, the terms of all existing board members will end.
American Cricket Enterprises (ACE), the owner of Major League Cricket (MLC), has pledged to provide up to ₹29 crore 68 lakh in additional funding. The new board will need to work with ACE to reach a commercial agreement that addresses previous objections raised by the ICC.
The ICC and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) are monitoring the selection of the new directors. Under the proposed arrangement, an independent director may remain in charge until ICC membership is restored, potentially allowing operations to continue until the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Mark Dennis has requested a hearing on the reorganisation plan around 15 January 2027, which may continue until 22 January. Court approval for the funding arrangement is required by 29 January.
