Prithvi Shaw focuses on the present after Maharashtra win over Bengal
The opener remained unbeaten on 53 to lead Maharashtra to a 10-wicket victory at Eden Gardens on Thursday.
Prithvi Shaw scored an unbeaten 53 off 50 balls to lead Maharashtra to a 10-wicket win against Bengal in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group ‘C’ match at Eden Gardens on Thursday, according to The Times of India.
The opener hit three fours and four sixes to record his second half-century of the Ranji season. His highest score this season was 70 against Delhi.
Shaw said that experience has taught him not to think too far ahead. He stated that after interviews, he plans to go to his room and focus on training, eating well, and winning games.
The 26-year-old, who last played for India five years ago, said that while thoughts of a national return exist, he is not thinking too far ahead. He noted that big runs are a matter of one innings.
Shaw, who moved from Mumbai to Maharashtra last season, said he feels comfortable leading the side. He mentioned that Mumbai and Pune are not far apart and he knows many players like Ankit Bawne.
Regarding the opposition, Shaw said he enjoyed facing pacer Mohammed Shami, noting that Shami was bowling fast and is the main bowler for such wickets.
