Petrol prices vary significantly across Indian states and territories

Fuel costs reach ₹117.51 per litre in Andhra Pradesh compared to ₹88.66 in Andaman and Nicobar, according to Business Today.

Petrol prices show a wide range across India, with a litre costing ₹117.51 in Andhra Pradesh and ₹88.66 in Andaman and Nicobar, according to a Goodreturns state table reported by Business Today.

The difference between these two locations is ₹28.85 per litre. Other high-cost states include Telangana at ₹116.15, Kerala at ₹115.49, Madhya Pradesh at ₹114.54, and West Bengal at ₹113.51.

The cheapest rates are found in Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh at ₹97.96, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at ₹99.44, Uttarakhand at ₹99.54, and Chandigarh at ₹101.54.

Price variations are linked to tax structures. The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell lists Andaman and Nicobar at 1 per cent, while Telangana charges 35.20 per cent VAT. Andhra Pradesh charges 31 per cent VAT, plus ₹4 a litre and a ₹1 road cess.

Delhi's VAT is 19.40 per cent. Because VAT is applied to a base that includes central duty and freight, higher rates increase the final price. For a 40-litre tank, a fill costs ₹3,546 in Andaman, ₹4,085 in Delhi, and ₹4,700 in Andhra Pradesh.

Brent crude settled at $94.62 on 4 November, following a weekly decline of nearly 20%, according to HDFC Sky. While prices fell, HDFC Sky noted that renewed escalation in West Asia remains a risk.
