Nandini ghee, butter and paneer prices hiked in Karnataka
The Bengaluru Milk Union has implemented revised rates for several dairy products following recent increases in milk and curd prices.
The Bengaluru Milk Union (BAMUL) has revised the prices for several Nandini dairy products, including ghee, butter and paneer, according to reports by Mint and News18. The new rates, which also apply to Trupti milk, came into effect on November 4.
The price of a one-litre sachet of Nandini ghee has risen to Rs 850. For ghee in PET jars, the one-litre option is now Rs 870, while the five-litre jar costs Rs 4,250. A one-litre ghee tin is priced at Rs 870, and a 15-kg tin is available for Rs 14,100.
Butter prices have also been adjusted. A 500-gram pack of salted butter costs Rs 380, while the 500-gram unsalted variant is priced at Rs 390. A 100-gram pack of salted butter is now Rs 90.
Nandini paneer prices have changed, with a 200-gram pack costing Rs 115 and a one-kilogram pack priced at Rs 485. Trupti milk prices were also revised, with a 135-ml pack costing Rs 11 and a 450-ml pack costing Rs 33.
Karnataka Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, alleged that the Congress government is deceiving both the public and farmers. He claimed the administration is failing to meet subsidy promises made during elections.
Narayanaswamy further stated that the BJP intends to hold protests against these price increases.
