Nazriya Nazim clarifies she did not deliberately reject Suriya's film offers
The actress addressed claims that she turned down three previous projects with the Tamil actor due to scheduling issues.
Actress Nazriya Nazim has clarified that her previous refusal to work in three films with actor Suriya was not intentional, according to the Hindustan Times. Speaking at a pre-release event for the crime thriller Scene in Kochi, Nazim addressed comments made by Suriya regarding her earlier rejections.
Nazim explained that the inability to participate in those projects was due to date conflicts and other misunderstandings. She noted that she would not purposefully turn down a film starring Suriya.
The actor had previously mentioned at a promotional event in Hyderabad that he had approached Nazim for three different films before she finally agreed to work with him on their current project. Suriya expressed his admiration for her confidence and screen presence.
In the film Scene, directed by Jithu Madhavan, Nazim plays a character named Maaya who assists Suriya's character, DSP Inbaraaj, in solving a murder case. The film also features Naslen as the antagonist, Eeshwaran.
Nazim is returning to Tamil cinema with this release after a 12-year gap. Scene is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 6.
