UP government approves 30-day bonus for state employees ahead of Diwali

Non-gazetted staff and daily-wage workers will receive the bonus for the 2025-26 financial year, according to ANI.

The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned a 30-day bonus for eligible state employees for the 2025-26 financial year, according to ANI. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved the measure ahead of the Diwali festival.

The bonus applies to non-gazetted state government employees, as well as staff from district panchayats, local bodies, and educational institutions. Daily-wage workers are also included, with a provision for a bonus of up to Rs 1,184.

Under the new arrangement, 25 per cent of the bonus will be paid in cash, while the remaining 75 per cent will be credited to Provident Fund (PF) accounts. However, employees who have already retired or are nearing retirement will receive the entire amount in cash.

Chief Minister Adityanath also encouraged citizens to support local artisans by choosing One District One Product (ODOP) items as gifts during Dhanteras. He stated that such purchases could contribute to a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh and support the 'Vocal for Local' vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
