CM Devendra Fadnavis to spend Diwali night with farmers in Narkhed

The Chief Minister will visit Lohari Sawanga village to interact with families affected by the drought-like situation in Nagpur district.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will celebrate Diwali with farmers facing an agrarian crisis at Lohari Sawanga village in Narkhed taluka, Nagpur district, on Saturday, according to The Times of India.

Fadnavis is scheduled to leave Nagpur on Saturday evening to spend the night in the village. He intends to interact with farming families and discuss matters such as crop insurance, irrigation, and water availability.

The visit comes as a severe drought-like situation in the state has impacted agricultural activities and caused financial distress for many families. The Chief Minister aims to show that the government supports farmers during this period.

On Sunday morning, the Chief Minister will meet with elected representatives from the Narkhed taluka to talk about local matters. He is also expected to visit several villages to check agricultural fields and water conservation projects on his return.

Fadnavis previously requested all state cabinet ministers to spend at least one day of Diwali in a village. He stated this would help ministers understand the hardships of farming households and provide emotional support.
