The goalkeeper is weighing his professional future following the death of Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel during a match on November 2.

Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono is considering retiring from professional football following a fatal on-field collision with Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel, according to the Times of India.

The incident occurred during a match between Andorra and Tenerife on Monday, November 2, when Owono collided with de Miguel while attempting to clear the ball. Owono received a red card during the challenge, and the 30-year-old striker was taken to hospital, where he died the following morning.

Reports attributed the death of de Miguel to accidental chest trauma sustained during the collision. Owono has been receiving psychological support from his club as he processes the tragedy.

In a social media statement, Owono described the period as the most difficult of his life and said he was struggling to find words. He expressed enormous pain regarding the loss and stated he would face upcoming questions with respect.

Ana Maye, general coordinator of the Equatorial Guinea national team and a friend of Owono, told Mundo Deportivo that the goalkeeper is deeply saddened. She noted he is particularly affected by the situation involving de Miguel's widow and his one-and-a-half-year-old son.

Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of de Miguel in his hometown of Navahermosa on Thursday. De Miguel's agent, Manuel Hernandez, thanked those who offered support to the grieving family.
