Nishu Kumar scored in the 66th minute to secure a winning start for the Hyderabad-based side in Jaipur.
Sreenidi Deccan FC secured a 1-0 victory against Rajasthan United at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday to begin their Indian Football League (IFL) 2026-27 campaign. Nishu Kumar scored the decisive goal for the Deccan Warriors in the 66th minute, according to Telangana Today.
The match remained goalless in the first half, which was dominated by Sreenidi Deccan. David Castañeda hit the crossbar for the visitors just before the drinks break after receiving a low cross from Jerry Mawihmingthanga.
Rajasthan United mounted pressure after the break, with P. Christopher Kamei striking the crossbar with a left-footed shot. Foday Trawally and Ricky Vanlalhriatsanga also came close to scoring for the home side.
Sreenidi Deccan regained control before Nishu Kumar curled a finish into the far corner following a pass from David Castañeda. Rajasthan United's Diego Maurício narrowly missed the post with a powerful effort late in the game.
Rajasthan United head coach Giuseppe Cristaldi said the main lesson from the opening game was that teams cannot win without scoring goals. He noted that while the scoreline was harsh, the team must be more precise in attack.
Rajasthan United will seek their first points of the season when they host Gokulam Kerala FC at the same stadium on Saturday, November 7.
