Noida police tighten security and traffic measures for Diwali
The police commissionerate has been divided into 10 zones and 26 sectors to ensure smooth celebrations across the city.
Noida police have increased security and traffic management efforts ahead of Diwali to prevent untoward incidents, according to the Hindustan Times.
The police commissionerate has been split into 10 zones and 26 sectors. The Noida zone consists of three zones and nine sectors, Central Noida has three zones and eight sectors, and the Greater Noida zone comprises four zones and nine sectors.
Police officials, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel, and traffic police have been stationed at malls, religious sites, major markets, and other sensitive areas. Authorities are using drone cameras and high-definition CCTV to monitor intersections and crowded markets.
A special traffic management plan includes route diversions, restrictions on heavy vehicles, and designated parking. To prevent illegal parking, cranes and traffic personnel will be deployed, while breath analyser checks will target drunk driving and traffic violations.
The fire department has been placed on alert with fire tenders at densely populated areas and firecracker sale locations. Dial-112 emergency response vehicles have also been positioned for quick assistance.
Noida police have asked residents to report suspicious activity via Dial-112 and avoid sharing rumours. The police stated that people spreading misinformation or disturbing communal harmony will face strict legal action.
