Manipur militant arrested from Delhi hotel
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) member RK Regan Singh, also known as Gandhi, was apprehended in Yusuf Sarai following an intelligence-backed operation.
The crime branch arrested RK Regan Singh, also known as Gandhi, a wanted militant from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur, at a hotel in south Delhi, according to The Times of India.
Special Commissioner HGS Dhaliwal confirmed the arrest and stated that the family members of Gandhi were the founders of the separatist militant group.
The PLA is a group fighting for the creation of an independent and socialist Manipur.
Acting on a tip-off, officers used technical surveillance and local intelligence gathering to locate the militant. While an initial trail pointed toward the AIIMS area, it yielded no results.
Officers faced difficulties because they did not have a photograph of the militant, but they eventually located him in Yusuf Sarai.
Gandhi was questioned regarding his presence in the capital before being handed over to the Manipur Police.
