One injured in Ghaziabad police outpost explosion

Authorities are investigating a blast at the Vasundhara police outpost that occurred on Friday night.

A food delivery person sustained minor injuries following an explosion at a police outpost in Ghaziabad on Friday night, according to The Hindu. The blast, which occurred around 9:00 p.m. near the rear wall of the Vasundhara police outpost, damaged the facility's window panes.

Ghaziabad Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud said a Sub-Inspector was also present at the location when the incident happened. The explosion occurred within the jurisdiction of the Indirapuram police station.

On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh police Bomb Disposal Squad, Field Unit, and Forensic Team gathered evidence from the site. A police officer stated that samples collected from the scene have been sent to a lab in Agra for investigation.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. They are also looking into a social media post from an organisation called Tehrik Ul Mujahideen, which has claimed responsibility for the blast.

While the motive and intensity of the explosion remain unclear, officials said they are examining all possible angles. The investigation is ongoing as various agencies, including the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), remain at the site.
