The revised rates will be effective from July 1, 2026, and will be paid alongside November salaries.
The Uttar Pradesh government has raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees to 63 per cent, according to ANI. The decision, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, makes the new rate effective from July 1, 2026.
The increase will apply to state government employees, workers in urban local bodies, and staff at technical and aided educational institutions. The updated allowance will be included in the November salary payments.
For the four-month period between July and October 2026, the government will deposit the outstanding arrears into the provident fund accounts of eligible employees.
The announcement comes ahead of Diwali. Separately, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently handed out appointment letters to 4,543 newly selected Sub-Inspectors and Platoon Commanders in Lucknow under the 'Mission Rozgar' initiative.
