Delhi Metro restores Red Line services after technical snag on Sunday
Normal operations have resumed on the Red Line following a technical issue that delayed trains during the Diwali rush.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) restored normal operations on the Red Line on Sunday morning after a technical snag caused delays between Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda and Major Mohit Sharma Rajendra Nagar metro stations, according to ANI.
The disruption occurred as the transit operator implemented a revised schedule for the Diwali festival. Under this schedule, trains on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines commenced operations at 6 am, one hour earlier than the usual 7 am Sunday start time.
The early services on the Pink Line covered the Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar section. On the Magenta Line, early operations ran on the Botanical Garden to Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park to Deepali Chowk corridors, while the Grey Line saw early services on the Dwarka Kakrola to Dhansa Bus Stand stretch.
The DMRC confirmed that the last train services from all terminal stations, including the Airport Express Line, departed at 10 pm on Sunday instead of the usual 11 pm.
Earlier on October 25, the DMRC received the 'Award of Excellence' in the 'Excellence in Innovation and Smart Mobility Solutions' category at the 19th Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo in Bhubaneswar. Managing Director Vikas Kumar received the award from Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal.
