Taraji P. Henson foundation partners for $30 million Maryland wellness hub
The Healing Arts Integrative Wellness Hub in Temple Hills will provide free mental health services, yoga and art programmes to residents.
The Boris L. Henson Foundation and Prince George’s County are partnering to establish a $30 million Healing Arts Integrative Wellness Hub in Temple Hills, Maryland, according to the Times of India.
The project involves renovating the Temple Hills Community Centre into a facility that integrates creative arts, wellness practices and evidence-based mental health services.
The foundation, started by actress and mental health advocate Taraji P. Henson, will manage programming such as yoga, arts and hip hop therapy.
Prince George’s County Council stated that $30 million has been reallocated from the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s budget for this initiative.
County Executive Aisha Braveboy said it is important to have a mental health and wellness facility in the county to help families process stress, anxiety and life challenges.
Council Chair Edward Burroughs III said the council must act against rising trauma, hopelessness and stress in communities. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
