CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke meets Mamata Banerjee in Delhi

Abhijeet Dipke said the Cockroach Janta Party will not join the INDIA bloc rally but supports the cause.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke met Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee in Delhi on Saturday. According to The New Indian Express, Dipke thanked Banerjee for her support of the outfit's youth-led protests.

Dipke stated that while the CJP extends solidarity with the INDIA bloc rally regarding the "vote chori" charge, the organisation will not join the Sunday protest. He said the CJP is an independent and neutral platform that will retain its identity.

Dipke met Banerjee to express gratitude for her support during the CJP's first protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak issue. He also thanked her for standing with the outfit when leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were arrested by the Delhi Police.

Banerjee, who is in Delhi to attend the Sunday rally, praised the young activists for their role in protests against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and the Election Commission. She described them as the pioneers and founders of the movement.

Banerjee said she was happy to meet the activists and invited Dipke and others to organise programmes in West Bengal. She noted that the decision to hold an event in Kolkata rests with the activists.
