Farah Khan seeks privacy after video of argument with cook goes viral
The filmmaker asked social media users not to draw conclusions from a brief clip showing her exchange with Dilip Mukhiya.
Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has requested that social media users respect her privacy following the viral spread of a video showing an argument with her long-time cook, Dilip Mukhiya, according to India Today.
In the clip, Mukhiya tells Khan that he has mentioned something many times, to which Khan asks if he is going to explain it. The video ends when Khan notices the filming and asks the person to stop recording.
Addressing the matter on Instagram, Khan asked people not to jump to conclusions and used a folded-hands emoji. The exchange has drawn attention to the relationship between the two, which has been a feature of Khan's cooking vlogs since April 2024.
Khan told Soha Ali Khan on YouTube that Mukhiya has always received good pay, though his income and opportunities increased after joining her channel. Khan stated she helped him resolve debt issues over a year and now supports his children's English-medium schooling and a son's culinary diploma course.
Mukhiya, 42, joined Khan's household about 13 years ago after moving to Mumbai from Madhubani. His online presence has led to advertisements for brands such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and Urban Company.
