J-K Deputy Chief Minister denies reports of National Conference discontent

Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Javed Rana asserted the party remains united despite claims of internal dissatisfaction and organisational crisis.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary dismissed reports of discontent among National Conference legislators on Monday, according to The News Mill.

Choudhary stated that the party remains strong and united against attempts to undermine it. He said the National Conference has always been at its peak and will remain so, even if people try to cast an evil eye on it.

Minister Javed Rana also rejected claims of an organisational crisis, saying the National Conference is a movement rather than just a political party. He said the party remained intact despite efforts by the BJP to weaken it using agencies and other tactics following August 5, 2019.

Addressing reports of dissatisfaction regarding ministerial representation, Rana said that while legislators desire cabinet positions to represent their constituencies, it is not possible to include everyone. He noted that the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has balanced representation based on specific criteria for all regions and communities.

Rana added that the concerns raised by party legislators need to be addressed by the leadership. He expressed confidence that all outstanding issues will be resolved once National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah returns from Delhi.
