Netanyahu is pressing Trump for nuclear strike on Iran, claims Carlson

US commentator Tucker Carlson alleged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing for a nuclear operation against a site in central Iran.

US commentator Tucker Carlson has alleged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is urging US President Donald Trump to initiate a nuclear strike against Iran. According to a report by the Times of India, Carlson claimed on X that the Trump administration could decide to use nuclear weapons within days.

Carlson stated that the target could be Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran, where he alleged Israeli intelligence believes nuclear enrichment has restarted. He argued that conventional weapons would be unable to penetrate the granite of the mountain to reach underground tunnels.

The commentator further alleged that Netanyahu is seeking to maintain the war to protect his political position following recent elections in Israel. Carlson also claimed that several senior US officials, including Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Centcom commander Brad Cooper, are backing the Israeli Prime Minister's position.

While Trump described a recent phone call with Netanyahu as a "very good talk," he noted that the US needs to address certain Iranian nuclear sites. The President specifically mentioned Pickaxe Mountain, stating that the US could take care of it quickly.

In contrast, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no agreement has been reached in ongoing mediation efforts. Araghchi stated that progress depends on the US responding to questions from Tehran.
