Adityanath calls Deepotsav a symbol of social unity

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stated that the Ayodhya festival promotes social harmony through collective participation.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the upcoming Deepotsav festival in Ayodhya as a symbol of shared faith and social unity on Tuesday. According to reports from The News Mill and Daily Excelsior, the Chief Minister said the event brings people from various sections of society together.

Adityanath claimed that previous governments before 2017 used caste divisions for politics and ignored the cultural forces that bind society. He stated that the BJP-led government changed this by initiating the Deepotsav celebrations in 2017 to transform the cultural heritage of Ayodhya into an inclusive festival.

The Chief Minister noted on X that religious leaders, students, traders, potters, and sanitation workers now participate in the celebrations with equal devotion. He said that in Ayodhya, identity is defined by participation rather than by caste.

Preparations for the event, which is scheduled for November 7, are currently underway in Ayodhya. Local priest Siddharth Das said that 31 lakh diyas will be lit and mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also expected to attend.

Work is progressing at locations such as the Saryu River banks and Ram Ki Paidi, where cleaning, painting, and decoration are taking place. The Chief Minister is expected to visit Ayodhya to review these arrangements.
