Amit Shah led foot march to expose Congress misinformation, says BJP

BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao praised the turnout for the Maha Padyatra held in Hyderabad on Monday evening.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a foot march, known as the Maha Padyatra, in Hyderabad on Monday evening, November 2, 2026. The march, held under the slogan 'Let us protect democracy and put an end to anarchy', covered nearly two kilometres from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue in Basheerbagh to the Mozamjahi Market junction, according to The Hindu.

BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao said the march, personally led by Shah, aimed to expose what he described as a misinformation campaign by the Congress and the INDIA bloc. Rao accused the opposition of spreading 'malicious propaganda' and 'blatant lies' against the Narendra Modi-led Central government and constitutional institutions.

Rao specifically criticised attempts by the Congress and its allies to mislead the public regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He stated that the SIR is being carried out in the interest of the country's citizens.

The BJP leader expressed gratitude to party workers and citizens for their participation in the event. He called on BJP cadres to prepare to protect democracy and end the 'tyrannical rule' of the Congress government, according to a press release issued late on Monday.
