Delhi Police approve 225 compassionate appointments for families of deceased personnel

The appointments cover various roles including Head Constable and Constable positions to provide financial security to the next of kin.

The Delhi Police on Tuesday approved the appointment of 225 candidates on compassionate grounds to several positions. These roles include Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Constable (Driver), Constable (Executive), and Head Constable (Ministerial).

According to a press release from the Delhi Police, the move is intended to offer a dignified future and financial stability to the families of officers who died during service or in the line of duty.

The department's Screening Committee recommended these appointments after reviewing individual cases. The selections represent 5 per cent of the vacancies available under the regular and direct recruitment quota.

The appointments are conditional on the candidates passing a mandatory medical examination.

The Delhi Police stated that the welfare of their personnel and their families is a priority. Under Commissioner of Police Anurag Kumar, the welfare unit has been conducting various initiatives for the well-being of serving staff and their relatives.

The Tribune reported that these recommendations were made following the committee's examination of the cases.
