Two friends killed as concrete mixer truck drags scooter in Delhi

The victims were returning home after closing their grocery shops when the speeding truck rammed into their two-wheeler in Khajuri Khas.

Two friends were killed on Monday night when a speeding concrete mixer truck rammed into their scooter in Khajuri Khas, northeast Delhi, according to Rediff.

The accident occurred near the Old Police Station cut around 11:55 pm as the truck was making a U-turn. The police identified the victims as 30-year-old Santosh, a resident of Pakki Khajuri, and 33-year-old Pawan, who lived in gali number 24 in Khajuri Khas.

A relative of Santosh said the scooter became stuck in the front of the truck after the collision. The driver allegedly continued driving, dragging the two-wheeler for approximately 100 to 150 metres before fleeing the scene with his helper.

Police arrived at the spot and found both men seriously injured. One victim was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra (JPC) Hospital by family members, while the police shifted the other. Doctors declared both men dead.

The bodies were moved to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital for postmortem examination. Forensic teams have inspected the accident site and collected evidence.
