Punjab Kings may trade for Hardik Pandya in IPL 2027 deal
Mumbai Indians could lose all-rounder Hardik Pandya to Punjab Kings in exchange for Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod, according to The Hindu.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) is understood to be nearing a deal to acquire Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 season, according to The Hindu.
The Ricky Ponting-coached franchise is in advanced negotiations with MI. In the proposed exchange, India pacer Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod are likely to move to Mumbai.
The senior managements of both franchises have reportedly all but agreed to the trade. IPL executives are expected to process the documentation, with an official announcement likely later this week before the November 17 retention deadline.
PBKS's interest in the all-rounder followed an initial approach from a senior Mumbai Indians official. While MI explored trading Pandya with at least three other franchises, discussions with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also progressed to a later stage.
Other teams, including Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Delhi Capitals, have also been understood to be considering the Pandya option. Arshdeep Singh had previously been re-acquired by PBKS using the Right to Match card after Sunrisers Hyderabad bid Rs 18 crore.
Pandya returned to MI in an all-cash trade from Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024. He previously captained the Mumbai franchise to a title in 2022.
