US to mediate trilateral Russia-Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi next week

US envoy Steve Witkoff announced that delegations will meet on November 10-11 to discuss ending the war and post-war security.

The United States will host delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11 to discuss ending the war, de-escalation, and post-war security agreements, according to reports by Business Standard and Deccan Herald.

US envoy Steve Witkoff said the discussions will also cover humanitarian measures. The Kremlin confirmed on Tuesday that the Russian delegation will participate in the trilateral talks.

Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the new round of talks following a meeting with Witkoff in St Petersburg two weeks ago. The Kremlin stated that the Russian delegation will be led by aide Vladimir Medinsky.

The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Russian delegation will arrive in Abu Dhabi for the scheduled meetings.

Ahead of the Abu Dhabi talks, American negotiators are scheduled to hold meetings in Brussels this week. They will consult with representatives from Britain, France, Germany, the European Union, and NATO regarding Ukraine's reconstruction and security frameworks.

While US negotiators seek a breakthrough before winter, Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on the terms of a peace deal. President Donald Trump has recently increased pressure on Ukraine to reach an agreement.
