US Embassy warns of mass-casualty threat at Moscow museum reserve
The US Embassy in Moscow has advised American citizens to avoid the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve on October 31.
The US Embassy in Moscow issued a security alert on Saturday regarding a credible threat of a mass-casualty incident at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve. According to the Hindustan Times, the embassy is working with Russian authorities to address the warning.
The embassy identified the location as the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve at 1 Dolskaya Street. US citizens have been urged to stay away from the museum and its surrounding areas on October 31, 2026.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) confirmed it received information from the US through cooperation channels regarding a possible terrorist plot. The agency told Interfax that relevant security work is currently underway.
The Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve is a historic palace complex and park in southern Moscow, located approximately 16 kilometres from the Kremlin. The site was established in 1775 as a summer residence for Empress Catherine II.
This alert follows a previous instance in March 2024, when the US shared intelligence about a potential attack in Moscow. That intelligence was shared weeks before gunmen attacked the Crocus City Hall concert venue, an attack claimed by ISIS-K that killed more than 100 people.
