At least 73 injured as Russia bombs Kharkiv hospital and power plants

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russian strikes targeted energy infrastructure and a city clinical hospital across several Ukrainian regions.

Russia bombed a hospital in Kharkiv and several energy sites across Ukraine on Monday night, according to Al Jazeera. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strike on a city clinical hospital injured at least 73 people and damaged the cardiology department.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the hospital sustained heavy damage, noting that more than 1,000 windows were shattered. Zelenskyy described the strikes on power generation facilities and substations as a complex, massive attack.

The President stated that Russia launched 289 attack drones, 17 ballistic missiles, and 59 cruise missiles overnight. Targets included the Odesa, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said it targeted electricity facilities in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions, claiming the sites supplied power to the Ukrainian army and military factories. In the Zhytomyr region, Governor Vitalii Bunechko said more than 180,000 people were without power on Tuesday morning.

In Russia, Governor Mikhail Yevrayev reported that a Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire at a Yaroslavl oil refinery, injuring two employees. Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said US, Russian, and Ukrainian officials will meet in Abu Dhabi next week to discuss post-war security and humanitarian efforts.
