LG Manoj Sinha chairs high-level meeting to review J&K security

Officials from the Army, police, and intelligence agencies met in Srinagar to discuss inter-agency coordination ahead of the winter season.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar on Tuesday to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. According to WION, the meeting focused on the current security landscape and preparations for the approaching winter.

The session included senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), intelligence agencies, and the civil administration. The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir was also in attendance.

Participants discussed the necessity of maintaining effective coordination between different agencies. The meeting provided a space for the security establishment and civil administration to deliberate on managing security across the Union Territory.

The UHQ functions as a coordination mechanism that brings together security forces and administrative departments to evaluate security matters and manage responses to developing situations. Authorities are continuing to monitor developments and assess requirements as seasonal conditions change.
