Bihar CM seeks approval for road projects worth Rs 49,751 crore

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to discuss four major highway and expressway developments.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Monday to request the fast-tracking of highway and expressway projects. According to The New Indian Express, these projects, valued at Rs 49,751 crore, are intended to improve road infrastructure and connectivity within the state.

Choudhary discussed four significant projects covering approximately 330 km. While these have been cleared by the Centre’s Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC), they are currently awaiting final approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).

The proposed works include a two-lane bridge across the Gandak river on NH-727AA, which would link Manua Pul in Bettiah to Tiwari Patti in Uttar Pradesh’s Sevarahi for Rs 1,976.77 crore. Other developments involve six-lane elevated roads and service roads on the Saristabad-Didarganj and Anisabad-Didarganj stretches, costing Rs 8,455.86 crore.

During the same visit to the national capital, Choudhary also held a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The two leaders discussed matters concerning border security.
