Delhi's Ayush Doseja scores 78 to help team recover against Services
The 26-year-old batter scored his highest run tally of the season to assist Delhi's recovery at the Palam Cricket Ground.
Ayush Doseja scored 78 runs on Tuesday to help Delhi recover from 135/5 against Services during their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match at the Air Force Complex Ground in Palam. According to the Times of India, Doseja was dismissed leg side, falling just short of a century.
The Delhi batter's innings, supported by Sumit Mathur's unbeaten 80, helped the team reach 299/6 by the close of play. This followed Services being bowled out for 266 on the opening day.
Doseja, who scored 949 runs last season, noted that he had struggled to convert starts into large scores in his first four innings this season. He told reporters that while there was "outside noise" regarding his form, he felt he had been batting well but suffered from unfortunate dismissals.
The 26-year-old credited batting coaches Wasim Jaffer and Hrishikesh Kanitkar at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence for advising him to focus on his own game and ignore distractions. He also mentioned that facing Bengal's pace attack earlier in the season had provided him with confidence.
For Services, Arjun Sharma took 2/48 and Jayant Goyat took 2/51.
