Tanay Sanghvi and Pradeep Dadhe rescue Maharashtra against Bengal in Ranji Trophy

A 49-run partnership between the rookie and Pradeep Dadhe helped Maharashtra secure a 64-run lead at Eden Gardens.

Tanay Sanghvi and Pradeep Dadhe put on an unbroken 49-run partnership to help Maharashtra reach 207/9 against Bengal in their Ranji Trophy match at Eden Gardens, according to News18.

The 26-year-old Sanghvi, playing his third first-class match, remained unbeaten on 57 off 167 deliveries. He was supported by number 11 batter Pradeep Dadhe, who finished 22 not out off 59 balls.

Maharashtra had previously struggled against the Bengal attack, falling to 64/6 in the 26th over. Earlier in the innings, Mohammed Shami took 3/36 from 22 overs, while Mohammed Kaif took 2/33.

The Bengal bowling attack included Shahbaz Ahmed and Pradipta Pramanik. Despite the pressure, the Maharashtra lower order moved the team past the 200-run mark before play ended at tea due to poor light.

Bengal head coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla said that there is still plenty of cricket left to be played with two days of play remaining.

Bengal had been bowled out for 143 on the opening day of the match.
