Solo woman traveller praises safety features of new Vande Bharat Sleeper train

Travel creator Divya Saha highlighted the presence of CCTV cameras, locked doors, and clean washrooms on the Bengaluru-Mumbai service.

A solo female traveller has praised the safety features of the newly introduced Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Express. According to a report by The Times of India, travel creator Divya Saha shared her experience of the train, which was flagged off on November 1, 2026.

Saha highlighted several features that made her feel safe during her journey, including CCTV cameras across the coaches and well-lit corridors. She also noted the presence of centrally controlled automatic plug doors, which she said could help prevent unauthorised passengers from entering the coaches.

The creator specifically appreciated the cleanliness of the washrooms, noting they remained in good condition at 11:30 PM despite her having travelled since the morning. The train features modern toilets equipped with vacuum evacuation technology.

The Ministry of Railways stated that the air-conditioning units include an indigenous UV-C lamp-based disinfection system to deactivate harmful bacteria in conditioned air. The train also includes the indigenous Kavach safety system and emergency talk-back units.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper consists of 16 coaches, including one AC First Class coach, four AC Two-Tier coaches, and 11 AC Three-Tier coaches. The train has a total passenger capacity of approximately 823 people.
