Suzuki commits Rs 77,500 crore investment for India growth roadmap

The company plans to expand manufacturing in Gujarat and scale up biogas projects to support India's development goals.

Suzuki Motor Corporation has committed approximately Rs 77,500 crore in investments through FY2030-31 to support its growth roadmap in India, according to a report by The Indian Express.

The company is planning to build an additional manufacturing plant in Gujarat that will have the capacity to produce 1 million vehicles every year.

The Hansalpur manufacturing complex in Gujarat is currently the largest single-location passenger-vehicle facility in India and has reached an annual production capacity of one million vehicles.

This facility contributed to nearly half of Maruti Suzuki’s exports during FY2025-26, helping the company maintain a share of over 50 per cent in India’s passenger vehicle exports.

Suzuki is also expanding its involvement in clean energy by establishing three biogas plants, with seven more projects currently in the pipeline and four additional facilities planned based on biomass and agricultural residue.

The company's representative director and president noted that these initiatives aim to support the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 through localisation, skill development, and sustainable growth.
