Chennai brand Inippu Indulgence offers bite-size fudges with South Indian flavours
Founder Pooja Srinivasan aims to take the confectionery brand to international airports following participation in a New York coffee festival.
Chennai-based brand Inippu Indulgence is offering a curated range of bite-size fudges featuring South Indian heritage ingredients, according to The New Indian Express.
Founded by pastry chef Pooja Srinivasan, the brand uses ingredients such as Filter Coffee, Tuticorin Sea Salt, Malabar Spice, Pure Vanilla Bean, and Dakshina Cocoa. The fudge is made with real butter and contains no preservatives, with each piece carrying 69 calories.
Srinivasan, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, stated that the decision to focus on bite-size treats came from observing that consumers, including her own children, preferred smaller portions over large cakes. She noted that the brand is not intended for health benefits but is meant to provide pieces of joy.
The signature fudge recipe was developed through 60 trials at Srinivasan's home. Following third-party testing by an FSSA affiliate, the product now has a shelf life of nine months.
The brand recently participated in the India Pavilion at Coffee Fest New York, organised by the Consulate General of India. Srinivasan claimed Inippu was the only Indian company and the only fudge company present at the event.
Looking ahead, Srinivasan aims for the brand to become India’s first global confectionery and be available at international airports in duty-free sections.
