Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary congratulates Nitish Kumar over silt management policy

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary visited the former Chief Minister's residence to convey Prime Minister Narendra Modi's congratulations regarding the new policy.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary visited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence in Patna on Wednesday to convey congratulations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to ANI, the visit occurred after Choudhary returned from a trip to Delhi where he met several Union ministers.

Choudhary stated that the silt management policy, an issue previously raised by Kumar, is being fulfilled and a silt-removal agreement has been signed with the Centre. He noted that Bihar is the first state in the country to introduce this comprehensive policy to address recurring floods and use river silt for infrastructure development.

Praising Kumar's governance, Choudhary said the state is moving forward with his previous work on good governance and organized crime under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He added that they are working with the cooperation of Kumar to continue these efforts.

During his Delhi visit, Choudhary also met Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to request additional trains for passengers travelling to Bihar for Chhath and Diwali. He mentioned that more than 10,000 pairs of trains were operated previously and requested similar arrangements for this year.

The Chief Minister also discussed industrial corridors and noted that a data centre is ready in Bihar. He said land for the facility was made available in 2024 and that he personally inaugurated the centre in Patna.
