BRS accuses Congress MP of encroaching on land for SC students
State general secretary RS Praveen Kumar demanded the government reclaim 4.13 acres of land in Serilingampally within 15 days.
BRS state general secretary RS Praveen Kumar has accused Congress MP Porika Balaram Naik of attempting to encroach on 4.13 acres of land in Serilingampally. According to Telangana Today, the land is intended for poor SC students and is valued at nearly Rs 1,000 crore.
Praveen Kumar alleged that Balaram Naik and his son are facilitating unauthorised occupation through construction and huts. He also claimed that Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar is supporting the encroachment.
The land was designated in 2013 for a Social Welfare residential school and a Teacher Capacity Building Centre under the SC Sub-Plan. In 2014, the previous BRS government sanctioned Rs 31 crore for the site, and proposals for a 15-storey Centre of Excellence were prepared in 2016.
Praveen Kumar questioned why the government has not acted despite having the Revenue Department, the Vigilance Department, and HYDRAA available. He stated that he had previously refused to support the MP's attempt to claim the property during his time as secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society.
The BRS leader demanded that authorities remove unauthorised structures and install official signboards to protect the property. He warned that if the land is not restored to the Social Welfare Department within 15 days, the party will mobilise thousands of people to lay siege to the department.
