Giriraj Singh criticises Rahul Gandhi over debate challenge to PM Modi
The Union Minister suggested the Leader of Opposition should accept Amit Shah's challenge and hold the discussion in Parliament.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday criticised Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LOP) Rahul Gandhi for challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to an open debate. According to ANI, Singh called Gandhi a "Chirkut" and questioned if the Congress leader thought the people of India were fools.
Singh suggested that Gandhi should accept a challenge issued by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and hold the discussion in Parliament. He stated that Parliament is the appropriate forum for the LOP to raise questions and debate with the Prime Minister.
The Union Minister accused Gandhi of spreading confusion regarding electoral processes, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Singh asked why Gandhi had not submitted any evidence to the Election Commission or the Supreme Court.
Singh further alleged that the Opposition is attempting to obstruct India's growth and create unrest. He also claimed there is proof that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received money from China, referring to allegations made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
The remarks followed a social media poll by Gandhi on platform X, where he asked young Indians if they wanted to see a face-to-face discussion between him and the Prime Minister. Gandhi tagged several leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, urging them to convince the Prime Minister to accept the challenge.
