Rahul Gandhi renews challenge to PM Modi for open debate
The Leader of Opposition requested a public discussion on foreign links, the financial system, and the Adani case.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi renewed his challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to participate in an open debate. According to reports from The Times of India and Hindustan Times, Gandhi stated that 24 hours had passed since his initial dare to the Prime Minister.
In a video shared on X, Gandhi proposed a discussion involving the media and young people, with both leaders seated across a table. He suggested that the Prime Minister could appoint a moderator, even proposing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat for the role.
The Congress leader listed several topics for the debate, including the country's financial structure, the US deal, the Adani case, and Jeffrey Epstein. He also questioned why the Cabinet was not informed about the US deal and asked who has connections with foreign forces.
Gandhi noted that he faces approximately 45 defamation cases and invited the Prime Minister to file legal action regarding his claims about foreign connections so they could be discussed openly. He concluded his message with a Diwali greeting to the Prime Minister.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the challenge by stating that the government is ready to discuss all issues in Parliament. Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticised Gandhi's remarks, describing them as self-ridiculing.
