The Chief Minister surveyed districts including Guntur, Prakasam and Bapatla after the cyclone caused an estimated loss of Rs 343 crore.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by severe cyclonic storm Murasu on Wednesday, according to reports by Deccan Chronicle and ThePrint.

The cyclone affected 465 villages across seven districts and damaged crops spread over 52,000 hectares. The estimated loss from the storm is Rs 343 crore.

Naidu surveyed affected areas in Guntur, Prakasam and Bapatla districts, including Chilakaluripeta, Ongole, Kothapatnam, Chinnaganjam, Chirala and Bapatla. Following the survey, the Chief Minister will return to the Secretariat in Amaravati to review the impact of the cyclone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Naidu to enquire about the situation in the state after two cyclones occurred within a week, the government said. Naidu appealed to the Prime Minister for sufficient help from the Central Government, noting that roads, power infrastructure and other sectors were massively impacted.

The state government has already sought immediate central assistance of over Rs 4,500 crore.
