Chhattisgarh begins special stray vacancy round for 72 medical seats

The Directorate of Medical Education is conducting counselling to fill remaining MBBS and BDS vacancies in state government and private colleges.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Chhattisgarh has commenced the Special Stray Vacancy Round for NEET UG 2026 admissions to fill remaining seats in state government and private medical colleges, according to Medical Dialogues.

The process aims to fill 72 vacant MBBS and BDS seats across the state, as shown in the Round 5 seat matrix released by the authority.

Fresh online registration and choice filling began at 11:00 AM on November 3, 2026, and will continue until 11:59 PM on November 5, 2026.

Under the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental, and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025, only candidates who were not allotted seats in previous rounds or those registering afresh can participate.

Previously registered candidates must re-select their institutions because their previous selections are now void. Those wishing to include private medical colleges must pay the difference in registration fees.

If seats remain vacant after this round, a fresh allotment may be conducted based on the merit list and candidate choices. If a candidate fails to take admission or relinquishes a seat after allotment, their registration fee will be forfeited.
