Four British universities invite employers to first placement week in India
The UK Universities Placement Week will allow companies to recruit postgraduate students from four Indian campuses before they graduate in 2027.
The India campuses of four UK universities are providing employers with invitation-only access to recruit postgraduate students graduating in 2027, according to the Tripura Star News. The participating institutions include the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, the University of York Mumbai, the University of Liverpool Bengaluru, and the University of Aberdeen Mumbai.
The UK Universities Placement Week, convened by the global education company Emeritus, is scheduled for the end of November 2026. For the first time, the four campuses are offering employers a structured way to engage with more than 250 students from their founding postgraduate cohorts.
The students represent various fields, including finance, technology, artificial intelligence, management, and creative industries. The cohorts consist of fresh graduates and professionals with an average of 2.4 to 3 years of prior work experience.
Professor Michelle Jones, Director and Executive Dean of the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, said the week offers employers a chance to engage with students who bring disciplinary expertise and practical experience. Professor Lindsay Oades, Provost of the University of York Mumbai, noted that the initiative allows employers to understand student capabilities early.
Professor Richard Grose, Provost of the University of Liverpool Bengaluru, said the programme aims to connect academic learning with industry needs. Professor Marnie Campbell, Provost of the University of Aberdeen Mumbai, added that the platform helps employers explore how students can contribute to business needs.
Ganesh S, CHRO of Emeritus, said the event opens a second hiring window in the year, as most hiring cycles in India close by August or September.
